Pyrohiv museum was founded in 1969, but it took about 7 years finish it and museum got first visitors in 1976 . Collection of museum includes more then 70,000 items (folk art works, clothes, wooden furniture and musical instruments etc) and 300 original constructions which were brought here from different regions of Ukraine. Main part of the outdoor museum is dedicated to the Ukrainian village of 18-20 centuries.

Pyrohiv is the largest open air museum in Europe! It has 150 hectares territory, which reproduces traditional way of living in different part of Ukraine hundred years ago!

Nowadays Pyrohiv became one of the main spots for celebrations, fairs and ethnical festivals. You can participate in traditional ukrainian games, ride a horse or bicycle, pottery workshop and of course to eat most tasty shashlyk!
